On 13 October 2026, from 14:00 to 15:15 CEST, the LAND4CLIMATE project will host its second webinar, “NbS Finance – Business Case Development and Financing Strategies”, focusing on how Nature-based Solutions (NbS) can be financed and scaled in practice.
Co-organised by LAND4CLIMATE and DesirMED, the online webinar will combine experiences from LAND4CLIMATE demonstration regions with DesirMED’s technical expertise on innovative business models and business case development.
The session will explore key challenges surrounding NbS finance, including the differences between funding, financing and business cases, why projects can struggle to secure investment despite the value they generate, and how regional experience can help turn concepts into implementation. It will also look at the future of financing NbS and the changes needed to scale investment.

- Stephanie Willcocks (Bankers without Boundaries) – The Future of Financing Nature-based Solutions: From Projects to Systemic Change
The webinar is particularly relevant for municipalities, regional authorities, research organisations and professionals supporting NbS implementation interested in practical approaches to financing climate adaptation solutions.
The topics addressed are also closely connected to NURISH, which works to strengthen the capacities of rural communities to access and manage funding for climate adaptation and resilience, while supporting the development of nature-based economic opportunities and enterprises.
